FONTSFonts used from those "custom aesthetic font websites" can be super annoying for screen readers to read.

For example this message if read through Discord's official screenreader, it would simply say "Example said". It cannot read this custom font so it would skip over it entirely.

Here's an Example showcasing what screen reader users hear when they try to read the messages you wrote in special fonts. What you can do is just, not use fonts. It's as simple as that. There are many discord servers that have banned the use of fonts all together, and if you are a server owner, you may want to consider doing the same!

DISPLAY NAMESIt is important to note that Discord's official screen reader will read outloud the username of whoever said something for every single message being sent

This is an example of the type of username I see often while navigating "disability friendly" servers on discord. While this looks cute and aesthetic to look at, when you actually listen to it with a screen reader, it starts to become painful and annoying."asterix plus example username asterix he slash it slash they slash she slash p r n slash ith slash cat slash x e plus degrees spouting whale coral said this is an example message".Imagine if you were trying to have a conversation with someone and every single message that you read, you had to hear all of this before you even got to the message, which can be even more annoying if people send multiple short messages instead of one longer one. There are multiple things you can do to help make this more bearable.Don't use common symbols for aesthetic purposes in your username. Instead try uncommon symbols that screen readers cannot read and will skip over naturallyHere are a couple random examples of some symbols that discord's offical screen reader skips over and does not read

Consider removing emojis from your nickname (that are not a part of your proxy/systag)If you have a lot of pronouns in your username, consider using the | symbol instead of the slash, as some screen readers do not read the | and it will go by much quicker for those that do need to sit and listen every single message!Consider changing "prns" to "pronouns" so that screen reader users only have to listen to "pronouns" and not "p-r-n-s"While defientally not required, do consider if it is worth it to you to have all your pronouns listed or just a couple and then have the rest in your profile or something. Of course this is a much more personal decision but it is something to consider

"example username he it they she p r n ith cat x e spouting whale coral said this is an example message" is much easier to listen to!

KEEP PROXIESThis section is specifically for users of the Plural Kit bot.

This is what a keep proxy is if you forgot or didn't know. There is absolutely no reason why anyone would need a keep proxy outside of aesthetics, and there is no reason why someone should have to listen to
"Example said plus asterisk red heard message bye bye" every single message you send.
I promise you noone wants to do that for an elongated period of time. Just don't use them.

SPOILERED TEXTPlease keep in mind that the official Discord screen reader cannot read anything that is under spoilered text, even if you click on it to unspoiler it yourself. Now obviously we spoiler messages for good reason, but do try to keep in mind that if you do spoiler something, it is now inaccesible to anyone who is using a screen reader.

TYPING QUIRKSPlease try to keep in mind that typing quirks are really bady for screen readers and accesibility and many servers have them banned already.I do commonly see servers have the rule that "typing quirks are OK if you use a translation", and if you DO follow those rules, I would like to remind you that proper typing quirk translation ettiquite is to supply the translaiton BEFORE the message and not after the message so that screen reader users do not have to sit through all of that garbly goop to try to get to the proper message.
